About us

Mangalorean Catholic Cultural Association of Calgary (MCC) is a vibrant community organization dedicated to preserving Mangalorean culture, fostering Unity, Charity, Truth and supporting newcomers and youth in Canada.

Overview and History
The Mangalorean Catholic community in Calgary traces its roots back to 2009, when a few Mangalorean families who had migrated to Canada took the initiative to bring the community together under the guidance of their Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. John Pinto. These gatherings fostered a sense of belonging, promoted the Konkani language and culture, and strengthened connections among Mangalorean Catholics in the region.

Starting from a handful of Mangalorean families in 2009, the group has grown today with more than 50 registered member families and many more to join the fold.

Building on years of community engagement and fellowship, the Mangalorean Catholic Cultural Association of Calgary (MCC) was formally established in 2026 as a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization. The association is dedicated to preserving and celebrating Mangalorean Catholic heritage, promoting the Konkani language and culture, and fostering belonging among Mangalorean Catholics in Calgary and beyond through their selfless acts of Unity, Charity and Truth.
